VIBCO Vibrators will host their 7th President's Event on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 8:00am to 12:00pm at VIBCO World Headquarters in Wyoming, RI. This event is open to the public, but registration is required. ''Learning to See" is an interactive training program for senior level executives and provides an overview of lean thinking and lean philosophy. The program is offered at no charge and is part of VIBCO's commitment to ''yokoten" - the sideways sharing of knowledge and experience.

''Our lean revolution has made it possible for us to continue to grow our business and build for the future despite unprecedented business challenges - a difficult economy, tough competition, and unpredictable material costs to name a few," says Karl Wadensten, VIBCO President. ''We want to share our passion and our knowledge so that other businesses can continue to survive and thrive, too. That's why we host these President's Events."

About the Event

The program begins with a 1.5 hour plant tour where attendees see VIBCO's incredible lean improvements first hand and interact directly with employees to hear their stories, ask questions and get real answers. Employees highlight their innovations and demonstrate how they are actively removing waste from their workflow. Once the tour is complete, attendees participate in an interactive review of ''lean thinking" - the first step to building a lean toolbox so they can take away ideas to start implementing lean immediately.

To date more than 180 senior executives, elected officials and community leaders have attended VIBCO Vibrators President's Events with a combined enterprise value in excess of $2.5 billion. Notable past attendees include Rhode Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri, Vice President of Global Operations for Medtronic Jerry Bussell, Lean Enterprise Institute COO Helen Zak, Shingo Board of Governors President Bruce Hamilton, North Providence Mayor Charlie Lombardi, and WPRO-AM talk show host Dan Yorke.

About VIBCO's Lean Training Initiative

VIBCO Vibrators is firmly committed to the sideways sharing of our knowledge and experience – yokoten and believes in the collective power of lean to transform our economy and create a better future. That is the rationale behind the creation of President's Events and other training opportunities. There is no charge for participating in VIBCO lean training. Participants are just asked to share the knowledge, inspiration and experience with others in their organization and their network.

Once an organization's officer or senior executive has attended a President's Event, any of that organizations staff are welcome to participate (always at no charge) in any VIBCO University lean training course, space permitting. Courses are run weekly, typically on Thursdays. Topics include an Introduction to Lean, Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping, and more.
