Concrete Manholes

MODEL US-900 ON UW-2 WEDGE BRACKET SECURED TO MANHOLE FORMS IN UWF FEMALE BRACKET WELDED TO STEEL FORM

CONCRETE MANHOLES & CULVERTS

Model US-900 on concrete manhole. Concrete manholes, concrete junction boxes, leach field pipe, are all best vibrated with high frequency vibration using an electric Model US-900 or US-1600, or Model SVR-4000 in pneumatic, with a wedge bracket and UWF female bracket welded to form side stiffener. On small forms one vibrator is usually sufficient. On larger ones, two. For obtaining strong and smooth concrete see suggestions under SEPTIC TANKS.

PROBLEM: Manhole form and concrete 1500 lbs. ? How many and which vibrators to use, 3-4? slump. Vibration force needed, rule of thumb, for 3? or more concrete slump same force on vibrator(s) as total weight of form and concrete. For 1-2? slump 75% more force is needed. For 0-slump add up to 200% more force.

SOLUTION:Use 2 US-gOC (900 lbs. of force each two equal 1800 lbs.) or use one US-900 with wedge bracket and two UWF female brackets, one mounted low and one mounted high, move the vibrator from lower position to higher position when concrete reaches higher bracket. Vibrate until no more air bubbles break on top and a glistening surface appears.
