THE CHALLENGEContractor casting in place dividing walls between apartments of Hi-Rise building overlooking Hudson River, New York, getting voids and bubbles with internal vibrators. This required costly hand finishing.
VIBCO'S SOLUTION8 VIBCO 2P-450's external concrete vibrators were mounted to each 8' x 20' x 1' thick wall section (4 each side in reverse high low arrangement see lower photo). Vibrators were turned on when concrete reached 6" above the lower row of vibrators and remained on until pour was completed. THE RESULTA smooth, void-free surface. Hand touch up was eliminated. Not only was time saved after stripping the forms, but the contractor found that pour time was faster because there was no more waiting time as internal vibrators were used.
