Ornamental Concrete
THE CHALLENGE
48" high x 10" square exposed aggregate pillars were impossible to vibrate internally due to the exposed aggregate. Customer was looking for other ways to produce his product.
VIBCO'S SOLUTION
A vibrating table large enough to hold the mold was constructed and two model 4P-1000 electric motor vibrators were used. The forms were moved down to the vibrating table on a roller conveyor put on the table - concrete was added (390 lbs.) and vibrated. Total fill and vibration time appr. 2 minutes.
THE RESULTS
Was good - 1800 RPM vibrators showed the best results. Higher frequency vibrators were also used but the upper layers of concrete did not get enough vibration. The higher amplitude low fre- quency 4P-1000 vibrators gave the best result.

THE CHALLENGE
Problem with trapped air in large (200 lb.) concrete lawn ornaments.
VIBCO'S SOLUTION
A vibrating table was suggested, but customer working alone had problems with moving the 200 lb. mold when fired. Instead a portable vibrator was used. Model VS-320 Pneumatic vibrator (noiseless and needing no lubrication) was mounted on a large C-clamp and then fastened to the mold. This allowed the customer to leave the form in one place and move the vibrator from mold to mold.
THE RESULTS
The product came out super-smooth with no air pockets.
